Values are World Bank World Development Indicators EG.CFT.ACCS.ZS: access to clean fuels and technologies for cooking as a percentage of the population (SDG 7.1.2). The original producer is the WHO Household Energy Database / Global Household Energy Model (GHEM); WHO is the UN custodian. World Bank WDI is the import and redistribution path. Tracking SDG 7 / ESMAP report Excel, IEA, Our World in Data, and GHO PHE_HHAIR_PROP_POP_CLEAN_FUELS are not used. Rural and urban twins EG.CFT.ACCS.RU.ZS and EG.CFT.ACCS.UR.ZS are not imported. There is no WDI/GHO splice. The figure is the share of people whose primary cooking fuel is clean. Clean fuels include electricity, LPG, natural gas, biogas, solar, and alcohol. Kerosene is polluting. The metric is primary cooking fuel only. It is not electricity access (SDG 7.1.1), heating or lighting fuels, stove quality, chimney use, Multi-Tier Framework, household PM2.5, indoor air quality, or deaths. It is distinct from Electricity Access, which measures SDG 7.1.1 grid and off-grid electricity, and from Electricity Mix, which measures generation fuel shares. WDI republishes modelled WHO estimates: household surveys plus the Bayesian GHEM, with a documented assumption of 100 percent access in high-income years. WDI does not provide a usable observation-status flag for each country-year, so the layer is classified as modelled rather than observed household-survey results. Published 100 percent values include those high-income assumptions and are kept and ranked; they are not described as household-survey observations. Published zeros are kept and ranked. 2024 and 2025 are omitted because WDI currently publishes those years as empty. 1960-1999 and GHEM-documented 1990 are not advertised. OurBlueDot does not interpolate, fill missing years, carry the last value forward, replace missing values with zero or 100, 100-fill grey members, blend rural and urban series, or add estimates. Country rows are joined by ISO 3166-1 alpha-3; regional and income aggregates are excluded. Territories outside UN-193, including WDI entities PSE and XKX, are not added to the country registry. Bulgaria, Lebanon, Libya, and Liechtenstein remain no data. Map ranks are comparable-sample competition ranks among currently loaded countries (rank 1 is the highest clean-cooking share among countries with a value). Higher values are generally more favorable for cooking-fuel access; the indicator is not a welfare score, indoor-air ranking, or electricity-quality ranking. Missing countries remain without a value.
