What this means
Compare annual apparent coffee consumption per person across countries.
Higher apparent coffee consumption per person; lower apparent coffee consumption per person.
Methodology & source
Values are FAOSTAT Food Balances (2010-) food-supply quantities for Coffee and products, expressed as kilograms per person per year. This is apparent consumption from national supply-utilization accounts (production, trade, and stocks allocated to food), not household survey intake or cups drunk. Country rows are joined by FAO M49 to ISO 3166-1; regional aggregates are excluded. Japan and Singapore have no FAO coffee kg/capita rows in the current bulk. Small-population series can move sharply when trade or tourist-consumption accounting changes.
